I recently had the opportunity to take a little road trip and visit a dear friend of mine. While there, she invited a few friends over for a dinner party — and asked me to (naturally) provide dessert. My brain immediately thought of something chocolaty and decadent, and this cake certainly delivered.
I made it with my Your New Favorite Chocolate Cake recipe, and the pudding topping was so easy and delicious! It was enjoyed by all. That cake even earned me a back massage from one of her guy friends (SCORE!). I’m telling you, friend. This chocolate cake causes serious euphoria. And when it’s topped with pudding? Crazy good!
This recipe is simple and such a crowd-pleaser. The next time you find yourself in need of a dessert to bring to a gathering, bring this one. It’s sure to be a hit!
Cookies ‘N Cream Chocolate Cake
Recipe adapted from The Country Cook
You will need:
One chocolate cake, baked in a 9×13″ pan (I made my favorite chocolate cake, but you can use a boxed cake mix if you want)
Two 4 oz. boxes of instant Cookies ‘N Cream Jello Pudding
4 c. cold milk
Crushed Oreo cookies, for topping
1. Bake cake according to directions and let cool completely.
2. Using a fork or a steak knife, poke holes in the top of the cake.
3. In a large bowl, whisk pudding and milk together until smooth and thick.
4. Pour pudding mixture over cake and top with crushed Oreos. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Cake will keep, wrapped in the refrigerator, for up to 4 days.
